Hypnotherapy with the use of hypnosis is a widely recognised tool to quit smoking tobacco and has enjoyed a high success rate for many years. As vaping is a relatively recent activity in today’s society, it is perhaps lesser known that hypnotherapy is just as effective in helping a person to quit a vaping habit.
As long as you have a genuine desire to quit, hypnotherapy is a fast, effective and powerful tool to help you stop vaping for good.
If you have tried to give up vaping you can probably think of many good reasons for quitting the habit. Yet something keeps making you continue. Those emotional cravings happen, not because nicotine is particularly addictive, but because the vaping habit exists within your subconscious mind. The physical addictive aspect of nicotine is just 5 to 10%. The rest is all in the mind, and the mind can be re-educated.
By using hypnosis as a tool we can enable the subconscious mind to absorb suggestions about the dangers, costs and unpleasantness of smoking and vaping, as well as all the benefits to you of being a non-smoker. Hypnotherapy helps people to use their imagination to create a future where smoking and vaping simply do not exist. This often feels very positive and empowering.
Vaping, stress and mental health
It is a commonly held belief that smoking and vaping are good for stress. Unfortunately, the subconscious mind has got it wrong. Smoking is actually one of the major causes of stress and anxiety. Studies have also shown that people who vape for stress relief actually report higher overall stress levels than those who do not.
Nicotine creates an immediate sense of relaxation so people smoke in the belief that it reduces anxiety and tension. This feeling of relaxation quickly fades however. It soon gives way to withdrawal symptoms that are very similar to the symptoms of stress and anxiety. Smoking the next cigarette or puffing on a vape relieves the withdrawal symptoms, but it does not reduce stress or deal with the underlying causes. It simply creates a vicious cycle where the relief of withdrawal symptoms is mistaken for a reduction in stress, leading people to vape more.
Hypnotherapy helps people to adopt healthier habits and behaviours that activate the same reward system in the brain. Positive activities stimulate levels of serotonin in the brain, the mood enhancing chemical. This, along with listening to the hypnosis track included in the therapy, help to counter stress and promote relaxation.
Through hypnotherapy and the power of hypnosis, stopping vaping becomes the positive and definite choice, allowing you to regain control. Control of your vaping habits and control of your life.
